The local unemployment rate continue to set record lows.
The North Carolina Department of Commerce Labor & Economic Analysis Division has released the unemployment figures for all 100 counties during the month of November. Alexander County’s rate of joblessness was at 2.8 percent, down from 3.2 percent in October. Unemployment fell in 92 counties in the latest report. It remained the same in four counties and increased in four.
The statewide unemployment rate was 3.4 percent, down from 3.6 percent in October. Hyde County has the highest unemployment rate at 9.8 percent and Buncombe County has the lowest at 2.5 percent.
