Alexander Central’s Women won their 2nd round State 4A Playoff Game Thursday night. The Cougar men saw their season end with a loss to North Mecklenburg.

The Lady Cougars advanced with a road playoff win in Kernersville. Juliainna Walter continued her hot run in the post season with 28 points. Kirstyn Herman led AC with 10 rebounds. East shot only 29 percent for the game.
The victory puts AC’s record at 23-4. They will travel to Northern Guilford on Saturday.

The Vikings traveled to Taylorsville and showed why they’re considered one of the favorites to win a State 4A title.
North led by only 17-15 after the opening quarter but they pushed the lead to 33-21 by halftime. Any hopes of a Cougar rally were quickly dashed when North stretched the lead to 53-30 by the end of the third period.
The visitors were led by Jordan Crawford with 19. They will advance to round III on Saturday with a record of 25-4.
For the Cougars a wonderful season ends. They tied for the Northwestern Conference regular season title and won the league tournament. They finish 23-5. The 23 wins is a new school record for wins in a season.
Evan Presnell closed a stellar career with 25 points.
