Alexander Central Women’s Basketball team has played themselves into the State Playoffs.
Following a double overtime win Friday night over South Caldwell and a rout of rival Hickory on Saturday, coach Jon Presnell’s team has made the postseason. The Lady Cougars earned a wild card bid to the State 3A Playoffs in the parings announced on Sunday. Alexander Central, with a record of 11-3 are seeded 13th in the 3A West and will play at #4 Gastonia Ashbrook. Ashbrook is 11-1 on the season.
