Alexander Central Student Wins Award At National Beta Club Convention

Carter Payne brings home a first place win in the instrumental category at the National Beta Club Convention in Savannah, Georgia.

Payne competed against 31 other students from around the country in the semifinals and then two others who were named for the top three. Payne had only two minutes to impress the judges with a patriotic medley on the keyboard. He played in front of a crowd of about 5,000. Payne will be a sophomore at Alexander Central.
