Taylorsville: Laney Wike pitched a 4-hit shutout and the Lady Cougars advanced in the state softball playoffs. Wike struck out 6 batters and walked 2.
Freshman Kensley Davis had the game’s only run-batted-in.. Laney Russell went 3-3 and scored a run for Alexander Central.
ACHS is 20-4 and will host Round III action on Tuesday against league rival South Caldwell who beat Hough Friday evening by a score of 12-4. Game time has been set for 7pm at Central Park.
