Alexander Central 11 TC Roberson 3
Taylorsville: Alexander Central cruised to an opening round playoff win on Tuesday beating Asheville Roberson 11-3.
Laney Wike went 7 innings of shutout ball but it came with a twist. Wike went three innings, left the circle and returned after the visitors scored 3 times in the 4th.
Ava Chapman drove in 4 runs to lead ACHS. Alyssa Chapman drove in 2 and collected three of the Lady Cougars’ 14 hits.
Alexander Central is now 19-4 and will host South Meck in Round II. South advanced by beating Lake Norman Tuesday night 9-0.
