Alexander Central Softball And Baseball Take Wins Over Watauga

Taylorsville: Alexander Central bounced back from a tough loss Thursday night and shut out Watauga 5-0. Hannah Chapman got the start in the circle and allowed a pair of hits in 2.1 innings. Kensley Davis had two hits including a homer, Kyla Hamby also had a pair of hits. The win improves AC to 7-2 and 1-1 in Northwestern Conference play.

The Cougars continued their winning ways, beating rival Watauga Friday evening at Bob Gyrder Stadium. Jude Carter got the mound-win going six innings. He allowed a pair of runs in the first inning, but no more after. Senior Koa Mikeal went 2-4 with 5 runs batted in. Sawyer Chapman -Mays had 3 hits and scored three times. The Cougars stand at 9-1 overall and 3-0 in league action.
