
Kalee Peter
Peter, who will be new to the high school coaching ranks was a standout collegiate player at the Division II level for multiple seasons as she played for Minnesota State University Mankato, Francis Marion University and lastly at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
Coach Peter holds a bachelor’s degree in child development and family studies which she received from Minnesota State University, Mankato and played Volleyball for the Mavericks from 2018 though 2022. She went on to play one season at Francis Marion University where she garnered all-conference accolades before she transferred to finish her career at Lenoir-Rhyne University and earn a master’s degree in human services. During her two-year playing career with Lenoir-Rhyne, she was named All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American.
In addition to her new position as Head Volleyball Coach here at Alexander Central, Coach Peter serves as the Head Coach for the 12 and under FCA Force Club Volleyball team out of Hickory and is an assistant coach for the 17 and under team as well.
Peter commented “I am incredibly excited and grateful for the opportunity to step into this role and become part of the Alexander Central family. I look forward to building up an already competitive program and pushing our team to new heights. I can’t wait to get started and connect with the players, families, and fans!”
Alexander Central Principal Jacob Lail shared his thoughts on the hire by saying “We are excited to welcome Kalee aboard as our new head volleyball coach! Her extensive college playing career, paired with her passion for developing student-athletes on and off the court make her a tremendous addition to our team. We can’t wait to see the impact she will have on our volleyball program!”
Alexander Central Athletic Director Nathan Robinson commented on the hire by saying “Our patience to find a new head coach for our volleyball program has paid off. We are lucky to be able to hire a person with the volleyball playing background that Coach Peter has. Her love of the game and her energy will be easy to see as she leads our young ladies. She fits right in with our Athletic Departments core values and vision.”
