Alexander Central Basketball Brings Out The Broom At East Burke

Alexander Central 63 East Burke 50

Icard: Senior Meredith Wike scored 36 points including 9 three-pointers and the Lady Cougars never trailed. Wike was 9-19 from behind the arc and 12-24 overall. AC led by as many as 27 in the third quarter. East Burke was guilty of 30 turnovers. Addi Brittain led the Lady Cavs with 14, Bell Gwyn added 13. Alexander Central is 2-0. East Burke is 0-1.

Varsity Men

Alexander Central 77 East Burke 53

The Cougars and Cavaliers were back and forth early before AC pulled away to lead 21-16 after the opening period. The Blue and Gold won all four quarters and were led by Noah VanBeurden’s 30 points. Kade Flowers chipped-in 14. 11 Cougars scored as they improve to 2-0. East Burke was paced by Own Harmann’s 16 and Tyler Brown with 12. East is 0-1.
