Three Lady Cougars combined for 53 points as AC wins their season opener Friday night in Taylorsville. Meredith Wike led with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Addie Jack had 19 including five 3-pointers and Malayah Adams added 14. Emmie Burris paced Davie County with 13 points.

The Cougars stormed out to a 14-2 lead after the opening period but the visitors from Mocksville would rally in the second-half outscoring Alexander Central 35-18. Jayon Connor of ACHS led the scoring with 20 points. Jackson Powers with 14 led he balanced scoring for the War Eagles.
