Taylorsville: Alexander Central’s Malayah Adams drive to the basket at the buzzer won an overtime game Thursday night and the Lady Cougars improved to 3-0.

Hibriten led by as many as 13 in the third quarter but AC battled back and led 35-31 heading to the 4th period. It appeared ACHS would get the win as they led by 7 with 2:43 remaining in regulation. The Lady Panthers battled back to send the game to an overtime period.

Adams ended the battle with the buzzer-beater. She finished the night with 12 points Meredith Wike paced the Lady Cougar scoring with 20. Amori Patterson’s 16 was tops for the visitors.

There was no game for the varsity men.
