Taylorsville: The Lady Cougars cruise to their 20th win of the season Wednesday night against St Stephens. AC never trailed and were in command 22-5 after the opening period. They led 50-11 at the intermission. Ava Head had 13 points in 11 minutes and Coach Jon Presnell used his starters sparingly. Malayah Adams had 12 points and Hannah Chapman pumped-in 11. Alexander Central is 20-2 and 8-1 in Northwestern Conference action. St Stephens drops to 2-21 and 0-9.

After dropping a pair of games earlier in the week, the Cougars got a badly needed win. The Blue and Gold never trailed enroute to the victory. Noah VanBeurden led the way with 20 points , Koa Mikeal came out of a shooting slump and added 19. Kade Flowers had 10 pts and 11 rebounds. AC improves to 13-9 and 5-4.
