33 New Cases Of COVID-19 Reported In Alexander County Over The Weekend

33 more cases of COVID-19 were reported over the weekend (between noon on Friday, July 30th and noon on Monday, August 2nd).

4,601 cases have been counted since the beginning of the pandemic according the the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. In particular, the numbers have shown a tremendous increase in the last two to three weeks. Last week, 62 cases were reported.

The Alexander County Health Department has a good supply of both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines. To get vaccinated, call (828) 632-9704 or (828) 352-7724 or visit www.alexandercountync.gov/covid to schedule your appointment. You’ll likely be scheduled for the very next day.

Leeanne Whisnant, Consolidated Human Services Director for Alexander County will be on the Radio live Wednesday morning at 7:45 to discuss the recent spike in COVID cases.
