ALEXANDER COUNTY, NC (March 27, 2019) – The Taylorsville Business Association (TBA) in partnership with the Alexander County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) hosted a “Community Vision Forum” on Thursday, March 21st at McLindon’s Restaurant. The purpose of the forum was to create a shared vision for the future of Taylorsville.
Approximately 50 people attended the event, with representation from county and town elected officials and staff, business and property owners, industrial leaders, and citizens. Attendees were provided instructions for the evening by Connie Kincaid, EDC Business Development Manager, who has previous experience in facilitating vision forums.
Participants divided into seven tables to begin discussion of Taylorsville’s economic drivers, strengths, and opportunities. Each table wrote a statement of their vision for Taylorsville in the next five years during the final activity of the evening. A representative from each table then presented their ideas to the entire group.
Input provided at the forum will be analyzed and prioritized in the coming months. An economic strategic plan based on community contributions will be developed for incremental implementation.
The Taylorsville Business Association and Alexander County EDC would like to express their appreciation to Duke Energy for sponsoring the Vision Forum.
