The old adage,” never return to the scene of the crime” seems to be appropriate for two Wilkes County men after they were arrested in Alexander County. The duo allegedly stole a TV from the local Walmart store in Taylorsville last Friday. Taylorsville Police responded Saturday when a similar incident was taking place. The Loss Prevention Officer at the store identified the men as suspects from the previous night. Arrested was 38 year old Christopher Mark Simms of the Purlear Community in Wilkes County. Simms faces two counts of Felony Larceny and 2 counts of Trespassing. 48 year old James Clayton Roten also of Pulear was charged with a count of Felony Larceny. According to the arrest report the men confessed to similar crimes in neighboring counties. Simms and Roten made first court appearances Monday in Alexander County District Court.
