66 year old Sandra Marie Kelly was initially charged by The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office in 2016. Her arrest followed an investigation into stolen vehicles delivered to her residence from out of state. According to a press release the vehicles were purchased using a fraudulent credit card. Other items such as furniture, motors, and electronics, were listed as well. Total value of the stolen items was listed at $57,000. The press release indicates Kelly would re-ship the items to overseas locations.
Kelly was sentenced to 6 to 17 months on five of the counts. The judge suspended the sentences and placed Kelly on supervised probation for 36 months. She was also ordered to pay a $3,000 fine and court costs.
