How fast do you drive when it’s snowing ? A Lenoir man was arrested Sunday morning in Alexander County traveling 90 mph with the roadway covered in snow.
Taylorsville Police Officer T.D. Land clocked a vehicle on US 64-90 at 90 miles per hour shortly after 5am Sunday in the middle of a snowstorm. After a search of the vehicle by officers with The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, 10 grams of cocaine was confiscated.
Taken into custody was 35 year old Darrell Antonio Berry of Lenoir. Berry is charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while impaired, speeding 90 mph in a 55 mph zone. Berry was placed in The Alexander County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond, Berry made an initial court appearance on Monday, March 13th. His next court date is May 8th.
