A patrol officer stopped the car on West Front Street near Oakland Avenue after the car made what police said was an unsafe movement across lanes of travel. The State Bureau of Investigation’s meth lab disposal unit was called in to remove the chemicals and other meth-related materials.
Police charged the driver, Ricky David Chagnon, 27, of Stony Point, with 12 drug, firearm and traffic offenses. He was jailed on $231,500 bond.
Passengers Nicholas Seth Sharpe, 28, and Jennifer Suzanne Grant, 33, both of Statesville, were each charged with three drug offenses and jailed on $50,000 bond.
