We reported on this website last week that 23 year old Cody B Fox was arrested by the Alexander County Sheriffs Office. At that time Fox was charged with numerous counts by investigators including
felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering. Fox also was cited with numerous misdemeanor counts including larceny, possession of stolen goods, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Now Fox is charged with felony fraud and felony identification theft following his grabbing of a purse at McLindon’s Restaurant in Taylorsville. According to reports Fox went to the Restaurant on June 27th and applied for a job. While there he allegedly stole a purse and fled the scene. This came after he filled out a job application which included his real name, actual address, and social security number. Combined with all of that (plus video) it was pretty easy to identify the suspect and track him down.
After the theft of the purse, Fox allegedly used the credit card to make numerous charges locally and in Catawba County. By the time the card was canceled he had spent around $950. Fox is also facing a bevy of counts in Catawba County including 2 charges of felony credit card theft and several traffic violations.
Fox is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a combined bond of $9,500.
