The Alexander County Board of Education released information this afternoon announcing the Board will meet Wednesday at 12:30 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to distribute the North Carolina Department of Public instruction Facility Survey and Recommendations Report.
The Board of Education had requested the survey in relation to the possible closing of Taylorsville Elementary School. The possibility of the school being closed was discussed last Spring in a series of open meetings hosted by the board. The survey was conducted last Fall and included all campus facilities in the Alexander County School System.
According to a release the Board of Education will take no action at the meeting Wednesday.
In a related note, Board Chairperson Caryn Brzykcy will be in the B86 Studios Thursday at 5pm discussing the survey on a Special Edition of Ask Harbinson, Brzykcy, and Corbett.
