The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting next week regarding a proposed project to widen U.S. 321 between U.S. 70 in Hickory and Southwest Boulevard in Lenoir. The project is broken down into three sections. This meeting will provide an update on section A. Sections B and C are currently unfunded.
After reviewing all comments received at public hearings in July 2016 and an updated traffic forecast, NCDOT has evaluated additional design concepts along this section of the project.
The meeting will be held Thursday, July 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Western Piedmont Council of Governments, 1880 2nd Avenue NW in Hickory. Interested citizens may attend the meeting at any time as no formal presentation will be made. Comments can be submitted in writing, by phone or email through August 10.
Contact Gene Tarascio, NCDOT Project Development Engineer, for more information about the project at 1548 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C., 27699-1548, (919) 707-6046 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
