The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting today regarding a project to improve a section of N.C. 127 between Cloninger Mill Road north of Hickory and Richey Road north of Bethlehem. The project will improve operations and safety by widening the existing roadway from two lanes to four lanes with a median, and replacing the existing bridge over the Catawba River.
The meeting will be held at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church, 9042 N.C. 127 in the Bethlehem Community of Alexander County from 4 to 7 p.m. Interested citizens may attend the meeting at any time, as no formal presentation will be made. For residents who cannot attend the meeting, comments can be submitted in writing, by phone or email through Nov. 28.
