Pfeiffer University’s Makenzie Pennell was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week for games played Apr. 3-9, the Conference announced today.
A freshman from Taylorsville, N.C., Pennell picked up her third POTW honor this year for Pfeiffer after having a solid weekend for the No. 3 Falcons. In a doubleheader with Southern Wesleyan, Pennell batted .600 (3-for-5) with three home runs, five RBI and four runs scored. In the process, she broke the Pfeiffer single-season RBI (49) record and sits second all-time in single-season home runs with 10.
Pennell and the Falcons return to action on Thursday as they host North Greenville at 2 p.m.
