A Checking station last Friday evening resulted in the arrest of a man and a woman on various drug related offenses.
The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office along with Taylorsville Police, North Carolina Highway Patrol, and The North Carolina Division of Public Health set up a checking station on US 64. Among the numerous arrests made at the checking station was a man and woman on felony drug charges.
32 year old Adnon Ahmed of West Columbia, South Carolina was taken into custody and charged with felony possession with intent to distribute marijuana, felony altering/stealing/ destroying criminal evidence. According to a press release Ahmed attempted to ingest packaged marijuana. A large amount of CBD oil (oil from marijuana) was discovered in the vehicle along with a significant amount of drug paraphernalia. Ahmed was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a $40,000 secured bond.
Also taken into custody was 39 year old Nicole Gomez-Mostafa of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Mostafa was charged with possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana. Mostafa was placed in the County Detention Center under a $20.000 secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending.
As the result of the checking station, multiple other arrests and charges were made. Those charges include 4 additional drug charges apart from the preceding. 2 Wanted Fugitives were taken into custody, 2 seat belt violations, 6 charges for no operator’s license, 4 counts of driving while license revoked, and 2 registration violations.
