The North Carolina Department of Transportation reminds citizens it’s unlawful to place campaign or any other signs within the public highway right of way prior to Tuesday, September, 20th. September, 20th is 30 days prior to the beginning of One-Stop Voting.
The Department will remove signs prior to that date. After the General Election in November, signs must removed no later that November 17th.
Although right of ways on State maintained roads vary, typically it extends at least 30 feet from the center of roadway or street.
