“I’ll be back on the track” those are the words of Taylorsville Town Manager David Odom. Odom was part of a fund raising go -cart race Tuesday night in Taylorsville and ended up with a broken foot and a dislocated toe. That’s the bad news, the good news is over $800 was raised for the Hiddenite Helpers Food Pantry.
Odom ended up in the guardrail during the featured event held last night at the Pollard Raceway Park in Taylorsville. The event was part of the “Race against Hunger” campaign which is raising funds for the local food pantries in Alexander County. Odom was a member of the winning Harbinson and Brzykcy Law Office Team who was pitted against the East Taylorsville Baptist Church Racing Team. A total of $802 was raised and contributed to the cause.
Asked this morning if he thought perhaps he might have been targeted, Odom replied “That’s Racin” !
