25 year old Justin Lon Carver was granted Kimberly Taylor as his court appointed attorney although he will likely be represented by an attorney on the capital offender list. Carver was returned to The Alexander County Detention Center where he continues to be held without bond.
Last Friday, Alexander 911 received a call regarding a child who “had fallen off a couch”. When EMS arrived they transported Hudson to Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Later Friday the child was airlifted to Brenner’s Children’s Hospital in Winston Salem. Hudson spent the weekend on life support. The decision was made Monday afternoon to remove Hudson from life support and he died minutes later.
B86 has obtained a copy of the search warrant. It reveals the child suffered severe head trauma along with broken ribs, bruises, and bite marks. Carver told detectives that he had taken a shower and Hudson was with a 3 year old. While Carver was in the shower he contends Hudson fell off the couch. Investigators seized numerous items from the residence on Will Wilson Lane.
Carver is not the biological father of the child was but living with the mother at his residence. The mother gone to work and left the children in his care according to the Sheriffs Office.
