A Taylorsville man will appear in court today after being charged with the gruesome murder of a 17 month old child. 25 year old Justin Lon Carver was arrested last Friday afternoon following an investigation by The Alexander County Sheriffs Office.
Here is a timeline of events:
Friday September 23rd
Alexander County 911 gets a call from a man claiming a child had fallen from a sofa. Alexander EMS responds and reported to the Sheriffs Office that injuries sustained by the child were not consistent with what was reported. The 911 call came from a residence off Highway 16 South.
The child was taken to Catawba Valley Medical Center then later airlifted to Brenner’s Children’s Hospital in Winston Salem. The child was suffering severe trauma as was placed on life support.
Detectives obtain a search warrant and search the home of a suspect on Will Wilson Lane in Taylorsville
Officers arrest 25 Justin Lon Carver who was attending to the child while the mother was working. Carver is not the biological father of the child and is reported to be a relationship with the child’s mother
Monday September 26
The Sheriffs Office releases information of Carver’s arrest charging him with Felony intentional Child Abuse with intent to inflict serious injury. He remains in the County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.
Carver makes an initial court appearance in Alexander County Disctrict Court
Around 4:15pm: 17 month old Camden Hudson was removed from live support
Around 4:36pm: Sheriffs Office is notified the child is deceased
Carver is charged with murder and is detained without bond
