A man will be submitted for a mental health evaluation following an incident Wednesday afternoon in Taylorsville.
Taylorsville Police and the Alexander County Sheriffs Office responded around 1:30 today to the local Masonic Lodge at 61 Second Avenue SW. A driver had crashed their vehicle into the lodge doors. Officers found the driver to be suffering what is being called a “Mental Health Issue” after he admitted to driving into the building which was not unoccupied at the time. He stated his intention of calling attention to a cause according to Police. The cause he was wanting to call attention to has not been confirmed.
The man who was not injured, has not been identified. He was transported to a facility for an evaluation. The damage to the building was mostly confined to the doors.
