Janel Lingle was named principal of Taylorsville Elementary School effective Thursday, July 14, 2016. Ms. Lingle has 23 years of educational experience in Alexander County Schools.
“I am extremely honored at the opportunity to lead a great school such as Taylorsville Elementary. I look forward to working with the staff, students, and community to continue to grow the students we serve and prepare them for a bright future,” stated Ms. Lingle, “I am thankful for the opportunities experienced at Alexander Central and will continue to work to the best of my ability serve this community for the greater good.”
“I am excited to have Ms. Lingle join the ranks of the principalship considering she has devoted many years to the students of this school system,” stated Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Hefner. “As a former student of Taylorsville Elementary School and a graduate of Alexander Central High School, she has a heart for children and Alexander County.”
She recently served as an assistant principal at Alexander Central High School from 2000 to 2016. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a Master’s in School Administration and Lenoir Rhyne College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She taught at Alexander Central for seven years. Ms. Lingle lives in the Hiddenite community. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Taylorsville. She is the proud mother of Taylor and Ethan.
