He was last seen at about 8:30 p.m. on that date leaving through a side door at the facility. He was not reported missing until two hours later by the rest home staff. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to find Mr. Perdue.
On January 31, the Lincoln Co. Special Operations Land Search Team, Sheriff’s Deputies & Detectives and a drone operator from the Cleveland Co. Sheriff’s Office searched a 300-meter diameter around the rest home. The drone was used to show aerial views of locations that are difficult to access due to the terrain.
Mr. Perdue is a white male with black hair and blue eyes. He is 5’5” tall and weighs 135 pounds. He suffers from several medical conditions, including autism spectrum disorder and schizophrenia. Mr. Perdue does not have relatives in North Carolina and is not familiar with the area.
