It doesn’t take a seasoned meteorologist to figure out, we’re in a very dry period. That said following some showers this morning which caused some excitement. We actually recorded .32″ of rain this morning at our location in Uptown Taylorsville !
Checking our weather data, we’ve recorded only .08 prior to this morning’s rain. That spritzing was logged on September 2nd. Checking back into the month of August the last rain recorded was .36 on the 18th. That’s less than a half inch total rainfall in more than month.
Add the recent hot temperatures combined with lower than normal humidity levels, the area needs a drenching.
Lawns are brown, late gardens and parched, and many citizens have aborted the normal late Summer, Early Autumn lawn care regimen.
Maybe Fall will bring some rain ! Autumn begins next Thursday.
