Earlier in the week, Patrol Deputies stopped a suspicious white Toyota car in the early morning hours on Taylorsville Hwy. The car was occupied by Jonathan Scott Davis and Donald David Mecimore. During the traffic stop, Deputies observed a television and some other items in the back seat of the car, but at that time, the break-ins had not been reported. Patrol Deputies felt suspicious about the subjects due to their nervous behavior. At the time of the stop, Deputies did not have any charges on the two subjects and documented their names and forwarded the information to the Detective Division. Detectives followed up on the information and began receiving more information regarding the cases.
On Wednesday August 24th, Detectives located Jonathan Scott Davis and Donald David Mecimore at a residence at 2100 Island Ford Rd. along with the white Toyota car that was seen in the area of the break-ins. Detectives interviewed the two suspects and during the course of the investigation, some of the stolen property was located inside the residence. As a result, Detective Miller took out warrants on both Jonathan Scott Davis, 46, and Donald David Mecimore, 38, who were arrested and charged with 4 counts each of Breaking and Entering and Larceny after Breaking and Entering. Both were transported to the Iredell County Jail and both were given a $10,000.00 secured bond each.
Mecimore and Davis are repeat offenders and have histories of Breaking and Enterings.
