On the morning of Easter Sunday, an Iredell County Deputy responded to a complaint of vandalism at an Iredell County Church. He went well beyond filing a report.
Deputy C.E. James was shocked to find a swastika painted on the door of the Houstonville Church. James made it disappear before church members arrived for Easter Service. James painted over the graffiti. No, it’s not a job requirement but more of a good deed from a law officer that helped make the congregation have a Happy Easter.
A before and after Facebook posting has gone viral, helping to spread the news that whomever tried to ruin Easter failed miserably, thanks to an officer who cared more than the criminal hated.
Officer C. E. James is the son of Taylorsville Police Chief Dennis James.
