Voter registration closes Friday for the March 15 primary election.
Residents wishing to register in Alexander County for the first time or voters wanting to change their name, address or party affiliation must do so before 5 p.m. Friday.
People wanting to register who miss the deadline Friday may still register and vote at a one stop voting site.
Registrants must provide proof of residence and also must meet North Carolina’s new voter identification requirements.
Registration forms are available from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays at the Alexander County Board of Elections office, which is in room 315 on 1st Avenue in Taylorsville.
Voter registration forms must be received by the Board of Elections by 5 p.m. Feb. 19 or be postmarked Feb. 19 to be applicable for the March 15 primary election
