By this time next week if you’re an Alexander County property owner you should have received your 2016 tax bill. County Tax Supervisor Guy Kerley says the notices should be mailed Friday meaning by early next week you should have received the parcel. Some 25,000 notices will be mailed.
In case you’re wondering you are responsible to make payment even if you don’t receive a bill so the age old excuse “I guess my bill was lost in the mail” won’t apply.
Real estate and property taxes are due September 1st and in order to avoid penalty must be paid no later than January 5th, 2016.
