The Alexander County Board of Commissioners will meet this evening. Money and Alcohol will be a major part of the agenda. The 2016-2017 County Budget will be discussed as will a request to the state to consider Bethlehem and Wittenburg citizens having their own alcohol referendum. The board ,if approved would ask the state legislature if it would be possible for those two communities to have a separate vote on alcohol sales. In the last referendum held countywide in 2013 the measures on the ballot passed resoundingly in Bethlehem and Wittenburg but overall the County voted against alcohol sales by a slim percentage. The meeting will begin at 6pm in the Commissioner’s Room of the CVCC Alexander Center in Taylorsville.
