The Alexander County Animal Shelter will be closing for intakes from February 12, 2017 through February 25th for shelter up-keep.
Per State guidelines the resurfacing of floors in the building will be done for the safety of the animals. The current surface of the floors has cracks where the sealant has chipped away, which can be a breeding ground for bacteria.
During the resurfacing, staff will still be available for rabies vaccinations and the low-cost spay/neuter program. Adoptions will also be available during this period.
For further information, contact the shelter at 828-632-1199.
