Chances are if you look skyward today, you’ll see or hear the rumble of a helicopter. The North Carolina Helo-Aquatic Rescue Team will begin 3 days of intensive real-life rescue training at Alexander County’s Rocky Face Park. Helicopters will be airborne and climbers will be on the rock ledges. According to Alexander County Emergency Management Director Russell Greene the exercises will take place over 3 days (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) . The rescue training will be as close to real life situations as possible with climbers being rescued and airlifted from the scene. Rocky Face Park has hosted this type of training numerous times over the past several years.
