North Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture Steve Troxler issued the following statement this afternoon.
Due to recent precipitation and lower fire danger, I have removed the restriction on open burning for Alexander,
Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Catawba, Cherokee, Clay, Cleveland, Gaston,
Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Iredell, Jackson, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mecklenburg, Mitchell,
Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, Union, Watauga, Wilkes and Yancey counties effective Friday, December
2, 2016, at 5 p.m.
Burning restrictions will remain in place for Anson, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery,
Randolph, Richmond, Rockingham, Rowan, Stanly, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin counties until further notice.
