Investigators have released pictures of a truck and driver they are calling a “person of interest” in connection with the death of a 63-year-old woman in Burke County.
Robin Teague was found in her home on the 2200 block of U.S. Highway 70, in Icard, around 7:30 p.m. Sunday by one of her daughters. When deputies and medical crews arrived, they found Teague deceased on the floor inside.
Authorities believe an assault took place, but have not established an exact cause of death yet. They are hoping an autopsy will provide some answers.
On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office released photos of a truck they say was in the area around the time of Teague’s death. Officials say the truck is a grayish Nissan Frontier close to a 1999 model.
Anyone who sees or recognizes the truck or the person inside is asked not to engage the person, but to call the Burke County Sheriff’s Office at 828-438-5500 or Morganton/Burke Crime Stoppers at 828-437-3333.
