The Alexander County Fire Marshall’s Office says a fire early Sunday morning was an act of arson.
According to a release from County Fire Marshall Russell Greene, units from Stony Point, Hiddenite, and Taylorsville were called Sunday morning around 12:25 am to the Stony Point Post Office. The firefighters were able to contain the blaze and keep damage to a minimum. The Initial damage estimate is around $6,000 dollars to the structure. Greene says in the release “The Fire was intentionally set.”
