A Hickory man is now charged in connection with a series of vehicle break ins and larcenies in Alexander County.
Earlier this week Hickory police arrested 29 year old Robert Spencer Keppel and charged his with 19 counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Following a joint investigation with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, Keppell now faces 17 similar charges in Alexander County. According to Alexander County Chief Deputy Todd Jones, the new charges are related to a series of reported vehicle break ins and larcenies mostly in the Bethlehem Community of Alexander County. Keppel is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center under a secured bond of $153,000.
Warrants in both Alexander and Catawba Counties have been drawn for 27 year old Casey Everett Pruitt of Hickory. It is believed that Keppel and Pruitt are known associates and were working together committing crimes. Officers are asking the public to contact them with any information as to the whereabouts of Pruitt.
