A man is in custody following a foot chase Tuesday in Northern Alexander County.
Around 4:30 pm, Alexander 911 received a call regarding a shoplifting incident at Propst Convenience Store on Highway 16 North. A Deputy with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office was able to locate the suspect and a foot chase followed. The suspect was apprehended following the foot chase.
28 year old Stoney Holland Hight of Concord gave the arresting officers a stolen false identity card and is charged with felony identity theft, assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and larceny. Hight was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a $50,0000 secured bond and is scheduled to make a court appearance on Monday, December 11th in Taylorsville.
Hight is listed as wanted by authorities in Cabarrus County for felony probation violation. Hight has numerous other counts pending in Cabarrus County including felony possession of heroin.
