A 15 year old male has been charged with attempting to take a gun on a school campus. The incident occurred Thursday evening at Alexander Central High. The juvenile who is not a student at the school attempted to enter the gate at Cougar Stadium for the ACHS JV Football game.
The weapon said to be a shotgun that was disassembled in a duffel bag. The bag also contained shells for the gun. The gun could be quickly assembled according to officers. School Recourse Officer Michael Millsaps said this morning he “heard the gun parts rattling in the bag”. Millsaps searched the bag and discovered the weapon. Millsaps said that he had spotted the juvenile earlier in the day near the gate of the campus.
Taylorsville Police have also charged the mother of the teen with failing to store a firearm for the protection of minors, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and misdemeanor child abuse. The name of the mother was not released at this time.

More charges are possible as the investigation continues.
