A Taylorsville man is being held on a $500,000 secured bond after being arrested Friday night and charged with felony child abuse.
Friday afternoon (September 23) B86 Radio reported an investigation was underway by The Alexander County Sheriffs Office involving a severe case of child abuse. The child is reported to be on life support suffering from extensive injuries. Initially the child, who is 18 months old was taken to Catawba County Medical Center before being airlifted to The Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston Salem.
Today (September 26) information was released that 25 year old Justin Carver of Will Wilson Lane in Taylorsville was charged with a felony count of felony intentional child abuse/inflicting bodily injury. The incident is reported to have taken place at Carver’s residence although the child was found at another residence off Highway 16 South. Carver is said to be in a relationship with the child’s mother and is not the biological father. Carver made an initial court appearance today in Alexander County District Court
