Sheriff Chris Bowman has confirmed that officers have charged 32 year old Andrew Emilious Justice of Taylorsville in connection with the incident that captured international attention due to the bizarre nature of the crime.
Last weekend a 1,000 pound concrete chicken was stolen from a location off All Healing Springs Road. The base of the bird was found a short distance from the theft. A CRIMESTOPPERS ALERT was issued and a reward was offered. A tip was received that led to the arrest.
Sheriff Bowman says that Justice is charged with felony larceny, injury to real property, and reckless driving to endanger. A tractor that Justice allegedly used in the heist was seized as evidence. Justice is being held under a $10,000 secured bond in the Alexander County Detention Center.
As for the location of “The Concrete Chicken”, it has yet to be located.
