A Bethlehem man now faces 14 counts of exploitation of a minor.
On Friday, July 22, 2016, Bobby Gene Huffman Jr, age 60 of Taylorsville, was and taken into custody and charged on 3 counts of 2nd Degree Exploitation of a Minor. This investigation stems from a tip provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who notified the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, July 22nd. The incident dates range from February 2015 through June 2015. A search warrant was issued by a Superior Court Judge on July 22, 2016 for Huffman’s residence located in the Bethlehem Community of Alexander County. The charges involve the alleged possession of child pornography by Huffman.
Huffman was taken before a magistrate Monday and was granted an initial bond of $12,000 secured. Afterwards eleven more warrants were issued for Huffman for 2nd Degree Exploitation of a Minor. With the additional charges Huffman’s bond is now $162,000, he remains in the County Detention Center. Taylorsville Attorney Joel Harbinson has been retained to represent Huffman who’s next court appearance is August 1st in Taylorsville.
