An alert for John Aston Lorell Eastlack was issued around 12:20 p.m. Thursday by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies allege John was abducted by his biological parents, Chad Douglas Eastlack, 35, and Penny Dianne Worthy, 20, after John had been placed into the custody of the county Department of Social Services. Deputies said DSS officials contacted them about the missing child on Tuesday.
John is about 17 inches long and weighs about 20 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Deputies described the vehicle linked to the alleged abduction as a silver 2008 Chrysler Town and Country minivan with North Carolina license plate EAF-5393. Deputies allege Chad Eastlack stole the vehicle from Millikan Farm Road in Franklinville.
Chad Eastlack stands 5’8″ tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He faces six total charges in connection with the minivan theft, including felony larceny of a motor vehicle and felony larceny of a firearm.
Penny Worthy, also known as Penny Eastlack, stands 6 feet tall and weighs about 120 pounds. Her last known address was on Peace Road in Trinity.
Attempts to reach Randolph County deputies for more information weren’t immediately returned. Deputies said in a short statement around 1 p.m. Thursday that the incident is still under investigation.
