According to Alexander County Chief Deputy Todd Jones, Clary was returned to jail after he failed a drug/alcohol screening which was part of his pre-trial release.
Clary was arrested April 11th following the fatal shooting of a man in his driveway in Eastern Alexander County. 35 year old Travis Harold of Hiddenite died after being shot with a weapon owned by the suspect. Clary was charged by the Alexander County Sheriffs Office following the incident, he told reporters he shot Harold in self defense.
Clary has run afoul of the pre-trial release program several times. He was released on September 16th under a $750,000 secured bond having twice before being returned to jail after being freed on bond.
